Makeup at ASUNTA

Makeup at ASUNTA

Makeup was never just makeup to me.

When I first started, I didn’t think about trends or products. I paid attention to faces — the way bone structure catches light, the way undertones shift in different environments, and how skin behaves after hours of wear, especially here in Arizona where heat and dryness change everything.

Over time, I realized there is a difference between applying makeup and truly understanding a face.

At ASUNTA, my approach is not about transformation. It’s about refinement. I don’t believe in masking someone or making them unrecognizable. Every woman already has harmony in her features. My job is to see it clearly and enhance it with intention.

When you sit in my chair, I study how your skin reflects light, where your natural lift already exists, what needs softness and what needs structure. I think about how the makeup will look in photographs, in natural daylight, in flash, and how it will wear after six, eight, ten hours. Makeup should move with you. It should breathe. It should feel like you — just elevated.

Bridal mornings are some of the most intimate spaces I’ve ever worked in. There’s emotion in the room. Anticipation. Sometimes nerves. My role isn’t just to do makeup — it’s to bring steadiness. A bride doesn’t need to become someone else on her wedding day. She needs to look like herself at her most radiant and grounded.

I create bridal makeup that photographs beautifully, holds through tears and desert heat, and still feels timeless years later. One of my favorite parts of wedding days is working with the mothers. I approach their makeup with respect. I don’t overpower them. I honor their features and their story.

Whether for a special event or photoshoot, my philosophy remains the same: makeup should support your presence, not compete with it. I don’t rely on filters or lighting tricks. What you see in person is what you see in photos.

If you value refinement, longevity, and makeup that feels aligned with who you are, you’re exactly where you’re meant to be.
